As soon as we enter Wilderless, we feel the pressures of modern life fade away. It’s an Android exploration game that places you in an expansive, procedurally-generated wilderness world, with no enemies, no quests, and no timers chasing you. We walk the mountains high, the hills lush, and the tundra covered in frost at our own speed; never a wall we can’t see around. We can see it, we can reach it. We change into a hawk and fly high above the clouds, a horse and gallop through the plains or a dragon and fly through the deep forests, each form showing a different aspect of the landscape.
We even make our own rivers and waterfalls using the built-in creator, and capture them in a rich photo mode! We’re sure that’s just what Wilderless is designed to be: a place to relax and de-stress in a digital world. Developed by one indie, the game comes without ads and in-app purchases or data collection, and we can play it without Internet connection. We fine tune a dozen or more quality parameters to the level of our device or for the level of visuals that we consider a benchmark, and in both cases we find ourselves feeling that same calm, content sense of escape that we can enjoy again whenever we need.
