One dwarf. A whole planet attempting to kill him. It’s that pitch and it gets us immediately. Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor leaves us stranded on the hostile underground planet of Hoxxes where we can harvest gold, evade swarms and make it back out with our treasure. This single-player auto-shooter is developed by Funday Games, Ghost Ship Publishing and takes a fresh top-down approach to the Deep Rock Galactic universe, making it available on Android. We don’t get all fancy with our gunners — they shoot themselves — we concentrate on what’s important: being smart, mining deep, and alive. These missions last 10-20 minutes and take place during a short break but never go shallow. Main goal is clear and intriguing. We accomplish the Mission Goals for the Company, level up as we go and then sprint back to the Drop Pod before we are too late! We pass through destructible, procedurally generated caves, which will be different every time. We get a horde of terrible guns, get a lot of cool upgrades, and go through a skill tree with passive skills that accrue per run. It’s quick, frenetic and very tactical. Veterans will know the bugs and the chaos, newcomers will become addicted just as quickly. So, pick up your pick axe, start the Drop Pod and rock and stone!
