The world is unraveling puzzle after puzzle, each of them is constructed using the textures and colours of actual locations. The snow-covered streets of Quebec are replaced by the vertical sprawl of New York, the tropical warmth of Thailand and the measured symmetry of Japan. The environments are not the backgrounds but are players in the test.
Movement stays disciplined. Go straight ahead and straight back, no aimless wandering and search. Jump when jumping is required, switch characters when switching is required, press a lever when pressing is required, get something on course when something needs to be on course. The constraints not only eliminate focus but also tighten it.
The virtual reality has two entrants traversing these spaces, which are either directed by two different minds in an online game or dictated by one player switching between the viewpoints. The riddles are based on this duality. The other character presses a platform and the other character crosses it. Timing is a key, sequence is a key and knowing how the two roles are interlinked defines progress.
This structure is supported by fifty levels in continents. The scenery of Italy, the congested Indian energy, the logic of islands, the open coasts of Australia–each region presents the differences without prejudice of the fundamental principles. The mechanics are also the same, but the difficulties are different and presented to be more complex through ingeniously designed problems as opposed to systems added in.
Personalization is there but it does not interfere. Skins are culturally dressed around where you are going, layouts can be customized to taste and graphics can be increased to fit device potential. The game performs well on a relatively weak hardware and is still visually coherent on more powerful hardware.
