In My Child New Beginnings Android Game, we are transported to the year 1990s Norway where we are adopted parents to Klaus or Karin who are preteens with the burden of traumatic past experiences. It is not an ordinary mobile game, it is an emotional follow-up to the BAFTA-winning My Child Lebensborn, which is not centred on a historical theme of the war, but rather on something more intimate and personal, on helping a child learn to feel safe and at home again. Our job is to build a home where people can find healing in small bursts of a minute and those bursts can come in different forms like having meals together, talking with the patients or just being around at the time when panic attack attacks suddenly.
The Constructing Trust by Living in Everyday Moments and Making Difference Choices.
The game serves as a simulator of life in which we manage time and money in order to fulfill physical and emotional needs. We have work days, grocery buying, cooking, and lamenting the stunning disarray of the beautiful parenting a preteen trying to learn to trust once more. As the plot progresses, the town slowly grows and will provide our child with new possibilities to make friends and regain a sense of belonging. The most interesting thing about My Child New Beginnings is the way our decisions echo all around- a kind smile in the cause of anxiety may make our child feel at ease enough to participate in a school event, and hastening over conversations may result in shunning. The trauma recovery in the game is very realistic, displaying us that there is no right or wrong way to be a parent, only human contact and letting recovery to be a natural process.
